A disgracefully impressive collection of highlights: Great beaches on the Ross of Mull, Calgary Bay's white sands and views of Coll and Tiree, Tobermory's brightly painted waterfront houses, the enormous cliffs of Gribun, famous Fingal's Cave on Staffa (‘pillar island’), and magical Iona, St. Columba's landing point in 563 and a destination for pilgrims ever since. Highest point: Ben More (966m) on Mull.

The essential journey here could be a pilgrimage, given Iona's past, but it's a strong achievement simply getting to see all four islands.
